Halloween '09

Even with rationing, I'm eating way too much (of my 5 year old's candy)!! Help.

We're supposed to be Fiyero and Elphaba from Wicked (aka the scarecrow and the wicked witch of the west) but by 10 pm our costumes were looking pretty lame

Why I love being pregnant

Why I love being pregnant:
Get to wear clothes commonly mistaken for small tents
My belly has it's own weather system (like the kid's head from So I Married an Ax Murderer)
Waking up at 4:40 am for no apparent reason - and my mind starts going, going, going
Trying to chase/waddle after a 17 month old is increasingly entertaining (to watch)
Coaching soccer is more and more of an adventure. Pretty sure I look like a fool doing jumping jacks. And it was an added bonus when I tripped over the ball and fell the other day ...
After finding out I'm actually pregnant, 2 confirmed cases of people saying, "whew! I just thought you were packing on some weight. It's good to know you've got a baby in there."
Shaving my legs is a blast - wish I could do it every day

Why I really love being pregnant:
Feeling a tiny little guy move around in my belly
Listening to his heartbeat once a month is so amazing
We get to name another boy (any suggestions??)
Falling asleep at 9:00 without a problem
Great excuse for late night trips to Taco Bell
Great excuse to have 2 cinnamon rolls after dinner
Great excuse to have leftover cinnamon rolls for breakfast
I get to have another one of these (see below). I can't wait to hold him!

Drumroll please--

Most of you know already, we just wanted to put it on our blog and make it official ... we're having another little boy! If I'm being totally honest, I was kind of rooting for a girl this time around. But hey, we know how to handle boys -- at least we know how to make boys :) And Jared doesn't have to worry about me spending tons of money on cute girl clothes, bows, ribbons, etc. Everything looked great on the ultrasound and we're really excited. Nervous about having 3 rascals, but excited! Here's to another round of endless train tracks, superhero paraphernalia, Lego's, dinosaurs and wrestling :)

Thunderbolts

Here are the Thunderbolts :) We're only missing one player in the team picture so we have a pretty small team. At this age they play 6 v 6 (including keepers). I'm having so much fun coaching these little guys with my friend Megan. Ky is still getting used to the actual game of soccer; he prefers to just run around and have fun with his friends at practice. Here's to a great season!

I promise Kyser loves me, he was just sick of pictures by this point. And don't mind the belly ... remember how I'm pregnant and these shirts are the most unflattering things in the world?? Or at least that's what I like to believe.

Brian Regan in the flesh!

We love this guy! Jared and I went to see him live last night with our friends Chris and Lisa and it was awesome!! He did not disappoint ... we were especially excited because it was almost all new material. I was laughing for the entire hour and my cheeks are still sore this morning.

Fun at Tahoe!!

Thanks to our good friends, the Allens, we were able to have an awesome time at Lake Tahoe last weekend :) The weather was perfect. Kyser and Isaac were little buddies and Emmett tried to keep up with Miss Lily. The boys even got to do some night golfing. I'm pretty sure Jared had more fun than Emily and Abby trying to catch the crawdads at the lake. And me ... well, I had a blast visiting with Lisa and being lazy on the lawnchair, soaking up the rays. Fabulous weekend!!

Summer catch-up

The good news: we've done a lot of incredible stuff the last several weeks. The bad news: my camera has been laid to rest and was not able to document any of these fun events :( I got a disposable camera but I don't have a scanner so that doesn't help you much. I have a few pics from Mia and Jared's phone, but that's it. Here's the run-down.
-Kim (Jared's little sis) came and spent several days with us. Well, she was really coming out here to see her boy-toy, but we'll chalk it up as a visit to us as well! It was so fun to see her, and she rocks on the guitar for Rock Band ... or at least provided a lot of laughs. PS. We love Ryan (especially Kyser). Go Kim!
-Liz, Nate, Sydney and Holly (my sis and her family) came to visit us. Where do I begin?? We hit the Bounce House - for the kiddos; bowling - for kids and adults (Nate is the champion); Wicked - definitely just for the adults! It was so fun to watch Sydney and Kyser play pretend together. Holly is adorable and Emmett was content just following them around. Come live near us. NOW!

-Kyser turned 5! His b-day was when Liz and her family were here and he loved spending his special day with lots of family.
-We went to 6 flags with our great friends, the Finches. Emmett loved the water spouts by Thomas the train. Lots of fun rides, except for this gal. It's cruel irony that the one who loves roller coasters had to sit on the sidelines. Oh yeah, I had to sit on the sidelines because I'm pregnant :) Almost 14 weeks and counting ... we're so excited!!!

-Saundra, my good from from high school, came to visit. We had a great time catching up and walking around Old Sacramento. It was fun to meet Michael :) It's my turn to go to see you next!
-Kyser had his first soccer practice this week. I'm the coach and I must say, it's a blast! It's so fun running around with the kids and introducing them to the wonderful game of soccer. Here's to a great season, Thunderbolts!!
